Palisades Tahoe
The rental cabins in the beautiful, mountainous enclave of Alpine Meadows boast serenity, mountain views and convenient access to year-round activities for the whole family. During summer, the beautiful Five Lakes Trailhead offers miles of hiking trails that lead to high mountain meadows and small lakes, perfect for an afternoon of backcountry swimming or fishing. The Alpine Meadows Stable hosts daily trail rides. The River Ranch Restaurant is an Alpine Meadows tradition, with its fantastic menu, riverside setting, and comfortable atmosphere. Its warm interior is a favorite apres-ski spot, while its patio is popular with Truckee rafters and bike path adventurers.
Olympic Valley found itself on the world’s stage for the first time in 1960 during the Winter Olympics. Since then, this iconic international ski resort has become well known for its challenging terrain, happening event scene, and as a proud home of several Olympians, including gold medalists Jonny Mosley and Julia Mancuso. This idyllic mountain valley sets the scene for a dream-worthy vacation, no matter which season, with hiking and golfing in the summer, and, of course, endless winter activities. The Village at Palisades is a popular hotspot, with a lively après-ski scene in the winter, alongside excellent restaurants, boutique shopping, activities and entertainment.
Both neighborhoods lead to chairlifts that will access over 6,000 skiable acres. A free on-demand shuttle service is available to guests who stay in this area, so you can spend your days skiing or enjoying the Village without driving. A free shuttle service runs between Olympic Valley and Alpine Meadows and the new Base to Base Gondola connects both sides of the resort so visitors can access all terrain no matter which neighborhood you stay in. Palisades Tahoe is situated halfway between Tahoe City and Truckee, granting visitors easy access to the best both towns have to offer.
