According to a new analysis by Zillow, the typical waterfront home (ocean or lake) nationwide is worth over double the median value of all homes. In some cases the waterfront homes are valued at 10 or more times their landlocked counterparts. Cities with the greatest difference were: Tampa, FL - 733% premium on waterfront homes Honolulu, HI - 334.5% premium Long Beach, CA - 321.6% premium Per our TLUXP market reports, Lake Tahoe lakefront homes in California and Nevada had a median sale price of $3.5M in the first half of 2014 as compared to a $579K median sale price of homes in the Tahoe Sierra MLS (California) or a $1.025M median sale price in Incline Village & Crystal Bay (Nevada) over that same period, reflecting the national trend.
