The water level of Lake Tahoe is expected to be low this year. If you have rented a house with a pier and you are planning on bringing your boat or renting one, please call or email our office to confirm access to your pier. Buoys are accessible by a small watercraft, however pick-up locations for your group may change, based on the water depth at the pier of your specific vacation rental home. There are a variety of public deep-water piers for loading and unloading. We are here to assist in planning so that you face minimal disruptions during your stay.
As always, all boats MUST be inspected prior to entering Lake Tahoe. Find everything you need to know about boat inspections here.
Public Piers
Lake Forest Boat Ramp, Tahoe City North Shore
There is a free parking lot and this is a great spot to load and unload guests. Be advised, the parking lot will fill up early on weekend mornings.
Obexer's Boat Company, Homewood
Guests are welcome to pull up to the exterior breakwall and use the ladders to access boats from the pier. Obexer's Marina also has a gas station. If you purchase gas, you can load & unload from there.
Tahoe City Public Pier, Downtown
Park in town. The pier is located outside of Za's restaurant. In this image the public pier is closest to us and loading is done on the far side.
Sunnyside Marina, Tahoe City West Shore
Park cars in the Pineland Road parking lot and walk out to the boat dock. Pull the boat to near the gas dock and load in the family from there.
Gar Woods Grill & Pier, Carnelian Bay
The restaurant allows guests to use the pier for loading & unloading only, with no tying up. There is no need to buy anything but please park on the street and not in the parking lot if you will be out for multiple hours.
North Tahoe Marina in Tahoe Vista does not allow any loading or unloading of boats that aren't part of their marina. Please do not pull up to this marina.
