The Camp Fire was the deadliest and most destructive wildfire in California history to date. The fire caused at least 86 civilian fatalities, injured 12 civilians and 5 firefighters, covered an area of 153,336 acres, and destroyed 18,804 structures, with most of the damage occurring within the first four hours. Northern California continues to mourn while facing clean-up projects and rebuilding that may take years.
Living in the Sierra, we are acutely aware of how close we are to such a devastating event. It was heartbreaking to watch this natural disaster so close to home. As displaced families fled to Tahoe to avoid the dangerously smoke-filled air, we decided to donate a portion of our commissions to bring relief to the victims and aid in rebuilding the communities.
As neighbors, we feel kinship to the residents of Paradise and the surrounding area. We could not be more thrilled to announce that Tahoe Luxury Properties is donating $15,000 towards Camp Fire relief funds, with much of the amount donated directly to victims and families in need that reached out to us.
Thanks to the heroic efforts of thousands of firefighters and the California National Guard, the Camp Fire was 100% contained on November 25, 2018 after 17 days of desturction. While there may be a long road ahead, we are proud to do our part in assisting families to rebuild.
