Geocaching

10:30am-4:30pm

Is your inner-child craving a treasure hunt? Then geocaching is the activity for you. Use a GPS or GPS-enabled smart phone with the geocaching app to find the hidden treasure of the modern era: a geocache. Each tiny prize is mapped by coordinates and waiting for you to find. Once you find your geocache, sign and date the log, and replace. Keep track of what you find on your Squaw/Alpine geocache “passport” and hunt for the ten locations near High Camp. Turn in your completed passport for discounts at the High Camp retail shop, The North Face in the village, and others.

Local's Tip

For experienced hikers, a local's favorite day is to start at the Shirley Canyon trailhead and hike alongside granite boulders, waterfalls, and wildflowers up to High Camp as your destination. Reward yourself with lunch and drinks at High Camp, and maybe even a dip in the pool. Then, take the Aerial Tram down, back to your car!
