Oktoberfest in Tahoe City – Oct 1, noon-6pm
Tahoe City Oktoberfest features local craft beers, live music and great food in a festive fall celebration. New this year, Tahoe City Oktoberfest includes craft beers from some of the region’s best microbreweries, including The Brewing Lair, FiftyFifty Brewing Company and Auburn Alehouse, in addition to the ever-popular beers by Lagunitas Brewing Company. The event features live music by two local bands (Forget the Roses will open up for Coburn Station) as well as traditional Bavarian themed games and local artisans vendor booths. Oktoberfest beer steins are included with the purchase of the first beer, and delicious food will be served by local vendors.
Truckee Wine, Walk & Shop – Oct 1, noon-4pm
Head to beautiful downtown Truckee for this iconic fall event. Attendees will receive a commemorative wine glass to sample wine at 30+ venues as well as five food tickets and a map to all participating venues. Get ready to wine, walk and shop! Tickets are $40 advance / $45 Day of.
Matchstick Productions Movie Premiere in Squaw Valley – Oct 1, 6pm-11pm
Don't miss the one night, two show premiere of Matchstick Productions newest ski film " Ruin and Rose," showcasing the best talents in the ski world. Tickets are $15.
Triple Threat Adventure Film Festival at Homewood – Sept 30-Oct 2
Triple Threat Adventure Film Festival features three nights of rock, dirt and snow. Each of the three showings will take place at Homewood Mountain Resort’s North Lodge on the 27ft outdoor air screen. Tickets grant guests access to all three nights and are $20 in advance / $25 at the door.

Reebok Spartan Race World Championship – Oct 1-2 at Squaw Valley
For the second year in a row, the Reebok Spartan Race World Championship will take place right here in Squaw Valley. The world's best athletes will collide on the course with a shared goal: to be the Spartan Race World Champion. The most anticipated obstacle racing weekend of the year will feature three Spartan Race distances to choose from over two days of racing.
Fall festival at Tahoe Donner – Oct 8, 11am-5pm
Now in its seventh consecutive year, Fall Festival is great for the whole family, featuring a day packed full of seasonally themed activities and events. The expansive pumpkin patch and maze are Fall Festival highlights; in addition, festival-goers will enjoy a barbecue, seasonal beer, arts and crafts vendors, and live music and performances by local musical groups. Children’s activities include pony rides, a kids’ carnival area, bounce house, caramel apple decorating, pumpkin carving, face painting and more. Admission into Fall Festival is free with options to purchase food, drinks and activities.

Stop by the Parks & Recreation booth located at Heritage Plaza in Tahoe City and get your free Trick or Treat bag and some free goodies. Then stroll down the street for a safe and convenient Halloween night. Look for the balloons outside of local businesses to see who’s participating.
