We boated over to Gar Woods Grill & Pier to meet some friends on Wednesday after work. Gar Woods is a fun, lakefront restaurant in Carnelian Bay (as well as a Lake Tahoe icon), full of gorgeous photos of all kinds of wooden boats. A real beauty pulled up to the pier as we were docking. We sat out on the deck and had drinks and appetizers. It was “Wet Woody Wednesdays,” where they serve their signature rum drink called a Wet Woody (named for the wooden boats) for a discounted rate. Careful, they go down easy, but are plenty strong! It was very crowded, but really fun. Gar Woods will be hopping by the end of the week when the wooden boat show comes to town.
The 36th Annual Lake Tahoe Concours d' Elegance is North America's premier wooden boat show.
