Mother Nature dusted off her winter sled today and glided over the Sierra Nevada mountain range! As of 9 a.m. this morning, five to eight inches of new snow covered the ground, from water's edge of Lake Tahoe to the summits of the ski resorts which wait with baited breath to welcome skiers and boarders to the 2012/2013 season. With additional snow expected throughout the week, Lake Tahoe, CA is now a gorgeous tapestry of rich, vibrant autumn leaves too stubborn to let go; the indigo of Tahoe's bottomless well; and the newborn snow's striking white - which in short time, will rule the land.
Think of it: perfect turns descending through waist-deep powder... a madcap tobaggan descent with one-too-many passengers... the giant snowman that faithfully appears atop the west shore's Eagle Rock... and that one crazy guy who jumps in the lake on New Year's Day. This isn't just good stuff; this is great stuff. And it's headed our way.
